Maximillion Rose - son of Royal Rose and Lucille, our half-Alianza foundation female. Inquisitive, friendly, athletic, proud carriage, soft crimpy bright fleece and lots of it... His pedigree is packed with excellence - Hemingway, Bueno, Legacy and Don Julio as well as topnotch females. What he gets from his sire and paternal grandsire, Hemingway, is well known.
Just as important is what he gets from his dam.
Lucille, at almost nine years old still has fleece that is incredibly dense and uniform, bright and crimpy and silky soft.
The same things are said of her impressive maternal brother, Hemingway's Protege, who now lives in Australia and is making his mark there. The same things are also true of Maxs fleece at three and a half years old.
Its looking like the quality of his fleece will most assuredly stand the test of time.
Were anticipating his first cria, due in July of 2010.
Weve entered Max in only three shows where he was compared to some of the best.
In all three, the judges were complimentary, enough so that we are fully convinced that Max is truly of herdsire quailty&
April 2008 ~ Max placed 4th in a large yearling class at the North American show. Every time the judge parted his fleece, he said "wow, that's nice!"
Nov 2008 ~ Max was awarded 3rd in a large
very competitive
yearling class at the Green Mt show. The judge was pleased with the entire class and compared Max very favorably with the first two placements for overall conformation and all the fleece traits were breeding for, soft handle, fineness and density, extended uniformity, brightness, staple character and length. Wow, Max!!
May 2009 ~ Max placed 2nd out of seven in the two year and older class at the New England Alpaca Expo. He
held the class advantage for overall fineness for a male his age
&carrying his fineness and uniformity throughout. This is the kind of comment we were hoping to hear!
