Parker River Alpaca Farm is sandwiched between a large state forest and
the Parker River tidal salt marsh in the town of Byfield,
Massachusetts. It is unimaginable to us how in 1635 the first European
settlers to this area could have survived the bugs alone...
Parker River Alpaca Farm is nestled into a large State Forest and
Wildlife Management Area. This area is open to hunting and some areas,
which are distant from our farm, are even stocked daily with pheasant
during the small game season.
How many of you raise alpacas? As new owners, we proudly raised our
hands high in the air. The presenter gazed out at the audience and
said, "Well none of you actually raise alpacas. You-all are simply
raising grass, which your alpacas then eat and they're the ones who
convert it into fleece and raise more alpacas."
